It depends on who you ask! Satin brass seems to be more popular than polished brass right now.

It's trying but I'm not sure it's succeeding.

Brass is a classic finish. What has been trendy has been the move AWAY from brass. Thankfully, the previous owners of our 1997 built home didn't feel the need to kowtow to trends, and left the brass fixtures alone - they are high quality and still functioning very well. We decided to "embrace the brass" when we moved in, and have zero regrets! We updated some brass fixtures (new paint, hardware, and kickplate on the front door, shades for the dining room chandelier, etc) but otherwise we've left them alone, and have no plans to change anything else out. Personally, I don't care one way or another whether or not a finish is "popular" - if I like it I use it. But for those who do follow trends, it's not your imagination - you really are seeing more brass again, and for a good reason - it's beautiful.

I don't know but I'm strongly considering it for a condo remodel I'm doing. It looks awesome with warm creams and whites and there are some lovely fixtures out there. I'm even considering doing a brass kitchen sink faucet in the all white kitchen.

There are a bunch of photos on Houzz, I'm almost convinced (plus it means I don't have to change out half of the hardware in the project).

Do it! Brass is a timeless classic. I mean, it's been around since, I don't know, Neolithic man. When it "fell out of fashion" a few years ago, I just rolled my eyes and thought, "It will be back."
