If it's any consolation... I'd guess the specie to be either Hickory or perhaps White Oak... with a very light color or wash.

Unfortunately, photos like this are focused on other items, and it makes it hard to differentiate positively, what the flooring is... even for some of us who have been at it for decades.

I think it is too bad Studio McGee won't share the flooring info. They primarily share info (specific details) that support their retail business. I will say the offer some good tips on their blog, but if you want details... they are very selective with what is shared.

Hi Kristy! Another reason we don't often share floor details is in respect for our clients who pay a lot of money for a design personal to them. If we gave away every source, the design they pay for would available to the world for free :) Hope this helps!

Totally understand, @Studio McGee. I suppose I was hopeful for this information and thought you might share since it is your folks' home. But they're entitled to having a unique space, too. Love your work. Thank you for the great tips on your blog.
