I'd like to do two tone cabinets, lower will be a danish teak stain or a taupe paint (undecided) and upper will be painted white.

Dilemma - I want the oak cabinet wood grain to show through the paint. I don't want to hurt resell value, opinions on paint with grain showing?

Question, if I use a deglosser on my upper cabinet doors to remove the old clear coat (rather than sanding, burnt out on that) will the grain show through when I paint?

First pic is inspiration, second is my kitchen, third is the finish I'm going for but not in that color (painted with visual grain).
