HI -- I like it and it looks real nice . It is special because the artist framed it as part of the total piece . You could lower it a little , yes about 3 inches or so. It looks great .

Great room! I think the matte finish on the frame is throwing it off in the room - too black. I would try a finish with a slight sheen, or have it reframed. Not gold though!

Bring the painting down a few inches and don't reframe - it's as much a part of the art as the actual painting. I'd think about bringing that blue in on a pillow on the settee, too.

Like it. Lower it. A different frame may make it perfect to look at, but you would no longer see all the love the artist put into the piece. Put something blue on the chair beside it, a throw or pillow, to pull the colors from the painting into the room.

I agree it could be lowered a bit. The frame looks a little 'harsh' for the room but definitely special coming from the artist. Vicki's suggestion of something blue on the chair would be nice. I'm wondering if a cream-colored mat might help soften the painting and frame, and also pull from other items in the room, e.g., lamp shades, fireplace, drapes.

Yes, lower the picture slightly, it is mounted just a bit too high. And I would have the painting in a matte to frame it better. That said, you will have to upsize the frame to accommodate the matte.

A lovely room. I think the frame is too heavy. I would mat the picture and go with a dark frame the same width of the frame of the picture over the fireplace.
