I have almost the same brown couch color

I decided to go with a grey color with a slightly bluish hue. Will re-do all window treatments and move large chair out of there and add a colorful rug in front of the sofa.

It looks like you have a lot of light in your house and I see the blue in the rug, a darker green would look very comforting.

You could change the rug to one similar in this posted pic (sisal + binding))and add dark brown occasional chairs to complement yr beige sectional.
Wall might be considered in a light blue or green tone as seen on the left . (4 squares)
Add blue and green and a touch of maroon in accent pieces.

I like Marianna's idea of leaning to a grey..... I think a grey/blue in a light-midtone would work well with your rug. This kind of color will feel fresh and more modern because it will be complementary to your wood floors, and relate to the colors in your rug. Even your blue swatch on the wall is pretty good, but a shade or two lighter so it won't be too dominant in your room when it's on all of your walls.

Revere Pewter should not look like that. It is a top seller that we use. Take a quick look at your light bulbs and see if they are very warm (orange) in color rather than cool (blue). Nine times out of ten it is simply the color of the light bulbs and only a few bucks to fix.

My living room is north facing and during the day, this is exactly what it looks like from all the natural light as well as the greenery outside. This green hue which I don't like. This pic was taken in the am without artifical light. At night , it looks putty like.

I think the rug is throwing everything off. I just do not like green, or yellow. I wanted a color on the wall. Im thinking a grey/blue would good as Anna Dee mentioned, maybe some coorniateing colors for pillows. I have NO idea what color drapery to use. I had wanted a grey white to go with rvere pewter but that will not happen now.

revere pewter very popular and beautiful. i used it in 3 rooms.all look different. gorgeous.one looks purple. one gray, and one blue.lol, so i get ur frustration. so it's probably the rug changing color or your lighting. that's what I was told.

Gray area is a SW green gray we used and universal gray, also Sherwin W, is one that had more of a blue gray.

Get paint samples and white posterboard, Paint them and hang them around the room during different times of day to see how you like them.

Personally, I also have a north facing living room and like green, so I tried 2 very seemingly similar samples - one toward yellow and the other toward grey. Testing the colors for a week I discovered that I hated the grey tone because it sucks out all the light.

Your sofa is beige, versus the grey of the inspiration room, and the rug reads warm too - teal is a warm color and even the silver looks warmer. I would be careful with a bluegrey paint.

I would like to see you buy a new area rug, first, before you repaint the walls. The elements of the current rug don't relate to the style or color of your sofa or pillows. Think about using a smaller more uniform geometric pattern or even a neutral color flat weave area rug with a colored binding. If you want to use gray in the walls, choose a rug that has gray and taupe elements. Once you have the new rug in place, then choose the specific paint shade for the walls.

U are welcome. Just an fyi...paint and the rug will be your 2 biggest items. I got my paint samples and painted a 4x4 spot on my wall, (lived with them for 3 days and night lighting) then I painted a poster board with the one I decided on and took it with me to look at rugs, pillows and drapery panels. Or if you find a rug you can't live without take it home for a tryout and live with it for a few days with your wall samples. Even if you order a rug online, they usually have an exchange policy to send back and try another. With draperies, buy one panel to take home and decide. The lighting in stores are always different from your space at home. Pillows are easier. Good luck and have fun.
