First, a search within this forum will bring up many discussions on this topic. If you can't do that, then we really need more info--location, pot size, herbs you like, amount of sunlight, etc.

Basically, most herbs can be grown indoors but it is not easy as rumors or internet pics imply. Most herbs need a lot of light, without that they won't develop good flavor oils. Many require very well drained soil and are disease prone indoors. Many require larger pots than fit on a windowsill, and many windows don't provide sufficient light. It can be done, but you really need to know the plants you're growing in order to fill their needs and keep them happy.

Personally, I do grow indoors, especially over winter (but most with grow lights): rosemary, scented geraniums, thyme, lemon thyme, oregano, lemon savory, marjoram, chives, garlic chives, cutting celery, and lettuces. Basil I do as micro greens, but I'm never happy with the flavor of my mature indoor basil (doesn't get hot enough) and gave up on it. Most of my pots live outdoors in summer too.
