I know most recipes I have read go something like this.

25% peat moss

25% vermiculite

25% soil

25% compost

But I was thinking about mixing in equal ratios something like this

25% peat moss and coco coir equal ratios

25% vermiculite and perlite again equal parts

25% sand and clay. My soil is almost pure clay the local sand and mulch sales top soil mostly sand with some composted bark

25% mixed compost(dehydrated manure and my own compost mostly vegetable waste) and leaf mold

How does coco coir hold up outside in the rain? The main reason for the mix up of ingrediants Is root rot and bad nemitodes. I hope the mix will support local worms maybe a few red wigglers. I am not using any bottom on my raised beds. I am growing mostly peppers and tomatoes in this mix.

I value everyones opinion and input. The cost on all of the ingredients is about the same 25 a cubic yard so cost doesn't change much.
