there is no primer in behr paint, or any other for that matter. but I will say that you will have to prime with a real primer after you pick a color to cover all those samples

So the Behr rep is wrong with their all in one brand? Wow. Thank you. That is primer on the wall covering previous samples.

A little focus might help. Pull all the elements that will be permanent together. The cabinets and the flooring and pull your wall color from there.

Are you looking for a beige paint? If so, I highly recommend Benjamin Moore's Shaker Beige. I HATED it when I painted a small area on the wall....it looked like wet cement. Went back to the paint store to get more samples and the guy told me to go back home and paint the whole wall. I did, and I loved it! Our whole house is now in Shaker Beige. :)

Hi Lori, thanks so much for your recommendation. I have pulled my colors of espresso cabinets, dark brown leather furniture, lots of metals, etc. and white boarded all neutrals, beiges and light browns to no avail. Walls are just not showing true colors. I think I have to prime as previously mentioned and not rely on the Behr with primer paint. This will be fun! ACK!

Thank you netak! Shaker Beige is not one that I've tried - yet. I appreciate the tip of painting the whole wall. Accessible beige is the only close color for now. Will definitely try the Shaker! @cinz1 We use SwatchRight paint peel and stick color sample decals. They give you a neutral gray base on which to paint new color samples. Can peel and stick them many times as long as it's a sound, clean surface i.e. it will take off any loose paint and pick up debris.

They're circle shaped, not square. The circle helps isolate the new sample color from the old wall color. Some people see a significant difference sampling with a circle, others not so much. Here's how it works: http://goo.gl/GMf2Q3
