There's no reason that these wouldn't be the exactly the same products in all stores (provided the model numbers are indeed identical). What's most likely is that these are slightly older models that have been sitting in inventory for a while. The Icon series has not been updated in a while.

That's very true. Frequently the model names may change by one or two characters for different stores, and the features are just a little different. That allows retailers to have a buffer against their price matching claims. (i.e. Retailer X saying, "I know AJ Madison is offering it for $500 less, but if you look closely you'll see that their version has a button on the left, while our version has a button on the right.")

But if model names are identical, they'll be the same. I just ran a quick check of two Electrolux Icon fridges (E32AR85PQS and E23BC78IPS) and Lowes was indeed selling the identical models for cheaper. Just make sure to check the return policy before you buy to avoid any issues.

If the model numbers are the same then they are identical products. The OP is asking about high end appliances and those are the same everywhere. This is a myth that independent stores like to propagate. The appliances at HD, Sears, lowes etc are the same at the local places as long as the model no is the same. Imagine the logistical nightmare that would occur if the manufacturer sent different products to each store with identical model numbers.

Sorry malba2366 but it's not a myth. I've been in the sales and service business for more years than I really want to count and many of the Higher premium products, KitchenAid, Electrolux, Bosch, etc., that are sold in a big box like Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, Best Buy, etc. will have slight variations in the model numbers.
The Luxury Brands like Wolf, Sub, Thermador, Miele, etc will not have differences in model numbers but these are not sold in big box store either.

Don't know about kitchen appliances, but I know vacuums sold at big box stores will have lower quality features like plastic parts instead of metal, but will have the same names as those sold at high end shops.

Same model number (exactly) = same product (exactly). It isn't just the logistical nightmare (which it is), just imagine the fraud claims against the manufacturer if they sold a lower quality product under the same exact model no.?

Jakvis, no one is disputing that big boxes have SIMILAR looking things that are different and sometimes lower quality - those have different model numbers or names even if they LOOK the same.

But, if a fridge or faucet or knife has the EXACT model same model number at the BORG as the one at snooty hoooty appliance - IT IS THE SAME ITEM.
