Very easy as long as they get enough heat and light. I grow all my chillies in a window box inside a glass porch. It's never hot enough outside to get a good harvest.

Peppers in pots work. I have over wintered them indoors on occasion but they need outdoor lighting to grow well enough to fruit.

I grow my hot peppers each summer out on my deck in pots. They need several hours of sunlight per day, but don't have to be in the sun all day long. Do not water too much unless you like mild chiles. Water enough to keep the plant from looking sad but no more. I have grown the super chili variety and it did quite well and was very prolific.

James Lim is in Scotland where it is unlikely to ever be hot enough to reliably grow decent peppers outdoors. I live about 400 miles south of him and it isn't hot enough here. Mine live under glass all their lives.

heyyy garden friends :D I found the peppers forum and posted the questions there as well. I have not gotten any replies yet though. floral, those are really pretty chillies. did you repot them when you bought them? how long have you been growing it? do you get good harvest? i do not have an outdoor option as my student accommodation does not have it. I also do not know what kind of space i will get for next academic year, and i will update you guys as soon as i find out. i tried one of the green chilli out of curiosity when i bought the plant. it is kind of spicy, but it could also be because i ate it on its own. i gave it just a little water today and i think i will not water it more than once a week. hopefully the green chilli turns red soon. do they take long to ripen? cheers

I didn't buy them. I grew them from seed. They are Hungarian Wax from 2013. Last year I grew a hotter one whose name I forget and have no pictures. From 6 plants I get enough chillies for a year. I grow them in a glazed porch. (Glass roof and two glass walls.) I also grow my basil in there.

Well there was hail this afternoon. Glasgow never sees a summer. Brilliant that you grow plants from seed! i dont think i can bare to wait so long. :)
