Hi everyone I am planning to grade away from the side of my house( maybe only 2 ft. Until it hits the driveway. I need to install window wells due to the level of the ground and windows. Do I need a drain for this.? I'm unsure what kind of system it has as it was built in 1929. Would I beable to just install the well and gravel and throw a cover on it? What would my draining options be if I needed to? I am new to this. My plan was to put a flowerbed next to my home and I ran into this. Thanks for all your help.

Here is the ideal window well installation. However, depending on the drainage characteristics of the soil and the amount of water it has to accommodate, you may be able to get away with just a couple feet of gravel. It has worked for me at times. Covering the window well with a clear plastic cover will reduce the amount of water running into it as well.

i am in the middle of replacing window wells. There is a C shaped concrete foundation where it looks like the window well should sit, but it is narrow. Do I bend the corrugated window well to sit here? Or can the length of it sit on soil, will the sides are on the footing? I cant go by the old one as it failed
