Floor selection

We are having a house built and I'm having a hard time deciding on flooring options. Attached are pictures of our cabinet and the tile we selected for our kitchen and entryway. The granite for the counter tops is also in the picture. Now we are trying to find a hardwood floor for the living area and hallway.
There are pass thru cabinets that are connected to the living room area so the floor option needs to blend with both.
My question is, is the tile that I picked going to go ok with the cabinets?
What wood floor color would you choose to go with the cabinets and tile?

Dark wood flooring is difficult to take care of since it shows every little thing, plus with espresso cabinets it would make your kitchen quite dark. Experience has shown that a single type of flooring throughout a house will make the house look bigger and will offer continuity. Many homes these days are putting hardwood flooring in the kitchen also and I suggest you do this.

White oak is always a nice choice. A medium stain will probably stay in fashion longer than anything light or dark. What I look for in wood flooring is a color not too red and not too yellow. White oak handles both of those problems.

Here is a picture of what the living room area will look like with the pass thru cabinets. We will remove the carpet and add hardwood.

I would do wide dark planks. The house looks modern, and that is what I usually see in modern houses.

The picture you showed of the living room looks traditional to me.

This is the model home . It shows the view from the kitchen looking in to the living room area. They have a darker wood floor but the tile they have in the kitchen was a specialty item and they didn't offer it to us.
The home was a at jude home with lots of upgrades. :)

Extend wood floor to the kitchen. If you still want tile, I would pick a less busy one so it does not compete with the granite.

You will regret if you go with that tile. It isn't good with the counters. Both busy and color not good. I agree with hardwoods throughout. No tile at front door.

I have kids, 2 golden retrievers, and we are building a pool, you don't think hardwood is going to get trashed in the kitchen? I prefer hardwood. The flooring rep tried to talk me into a luxury vinyl that looked like wood called paradigm waterproof luxury vinyl. It's actually pretty expensive for a vinyl.

I agree with silly that if you use tile in the kitchen, a simpler one would be better. Hardwood would be my preference.

The wood in your pictures looks like engineered flooring which will have limitations. Have you looked at porcelain plank floors? That might be a good alternative to wood. It comes in all colors and would solve the issue of different products in kitchen, entrance and living room.

No kids, pool, engineered wood floor, it can take some water no problem. We have to cross the master bedroom to get to the bath, any dripped water gets wiped up after we dry off and change. So far so good.
