Recently renovated home with small first floor. I feel like I have two styles: dining room a little less relaxed than the living room. How can I make these work?

Layout is living room to the left when you open the front door, stairs to 2nd floor directly in front of you and dining room to right when you open front door.

The dining room has the brushed nickle finishes (photos of room attached). Our living room has darker tones.

I'm looking to purchase new table lamps for the living room and also add some kind of decor to the mantle/fireplace. The mirror over the fireplace is new and is a brushed gold/silver tone. The aqua/white stripped fabric will be used for new drapes.

What style lamp would work in this room? What kind of decor can I add to the mantle?
