Elephant ears are very hungry plants. They really won't look good or grow much without a good fertilizer at least once a week.

I use half strength Miracle Grow, I originally used Foliage Pro by Dyna Grow, but that is too pricey for me right now. They also need ALOT of water, the hotter it is, the more water they need. Start fertilizing them and you will see a big difference quickly.

Half strength? Alright thanks! I am trying to add a bunch of organic material to the soil. I'll fertilize asap. Also how often should I fertilize them?

careful what you wish for lol Here is a pic of an escapee came up on it's own , Is growing under some palms and gingers I have never planted this type of aroid moved into the yard from the neighbors usually I pull them up as soon as spotted but this one was hiding out lol This is around one months growth !! It gets almost constant water from the overflow of the lily pool as well as feed from the gingers which explains it's growth ,normallly they stay about a third that size !!lol gary
