    the air flow would likely dry these native inkberry holly out too much. a tougher but pretty candidate, and loose enough habit so it doesn't impede air flow for the HVAC, is viburnum 'Prague' leathery backs to the leaves and some shine protect them, and has small fragrant blooms. vigorous but not invasive and easy to care for.
