Bathtub advice

We're gutting our main bath that has the only tub in the house. We're getting conflicting opinions from contractors re. tub vs. shower. We live in the most desired retirement area of Canada & have the most elderly population in the country. Most of us don't use a tub & prefer a large walk-in shower. We have a 4 ft. shower in our en-suite bath. So, tub or shower?
