Boring bathroom need help !

Where do I even begin ?! lol

I am not a fan of the paint color, cabinets, lights, and mirror (pretty much everything)

But I also do not want to blow our entire budget on updating. Any inexpensive or DIY for updates in mean time?

larger mirror, fill that space up! a shower curtain... this will give a a color scheme. paint the walls a light blue. and once you get a new mirror, then go after a new light. once you pick a curtain, let us see!

How about removing the towel rack and install floating shelves? Then, pretty things, colorful wash clothes, etc on the shelves. Fresh flowers on the counter will brighten the room immediately. flair lighting's light blue wall color suggestion or even a pale lavender would be pretty on the walls. I personally would 1. either float shelves or hang colorful art above the toilet. 2. Paint the cabinet white (and the frame of the mirror) and update the knobs. 3. Remove the one piece counter top and update with square undermount sink and a 6" spread contemporary faucet. 4. Paint the walls a pretty and soft color.

Go to a consignment store for an old dresser mirror and paint it to spruce it up. Add a chair rail and or wainscoting. Then add wallpaper or paint above the new trim! New shower curtain and you are on your way.

Painting always makes a great impact. With all due respect, I'd stay away from lavender - that color looks dated unless in the right shade. Safe colors are blues, greens, and tans. Go to your favorite paint store with your picture and let them help you. Also, I like this link for colors.

Agree with the colorful shower curtain!

You have used a lot of silver or chrome finishes in the room. If you change those out for oil rubbed bronze instead it will add some warmth. I would be tempted to paint the vanity out a light color since it is the one dark color in the space. You could even paint the mirror frame too.

Start by painting it a color.....that means not white. Light fixtures are easy/inexpensive and can make a big difference. The mirror is undersized and could be replaced with one that goes further down towards backsplash. Which brings to mind adding a mosaic tile backsplash. That would not require very much material or labor. Shower doors are not that expensive and that would really improve the bathroom significantly. Here are two projects that we did on rather small budgets.

I love the larger mirror idea and bright curtains and towels. I think that will definitely help too !

how easy it is to turn the cabinets into a darker color? is it a matter of painting it? or is it a bit complicated
