I also think three metal artworks above the bed is too much metal because of the headboard and side table. Canvas or wood pieces would look better. If you love the metal work you are commissioning perhaps it can go on the other wall? As far as using the width of the bed as a frame limit above the bed, that's not necessarily a rule to follow. Doing that tends to keep a "tight" visual space and it can look too constrained.

I don't have a problem with the metal or the expanse of it...consider centering it on the width of the bed and side tables...but I would change out the wood side table for metal as well. THEN...I would soften the look with plush bedding...ultra suede...leather...etc.

I think some big blown up black and white photos would look good, and I would go outside the bed frame and use the whole wall . You could also paint your nightstand black to bring a more cohesive look to the room and brighten with colorful pillows, see anthropologie.com for ideas for those.

NO, the size is not wrong depending on the subject, I would question more metal! Are images of the that is to be done available?

PLEASE LISTEN TO GARY FINLEY, ASID More metal will be awful! You could do a triptych painting that would bring in color. They are easy to find on Etsy.com. That way you get original art straight from the artist. This is so much better than some terrible furniture store prints that are mass produced. Have fun shopping!

I have metal photography and you really cannot tell they are metal but they do enhance the detail of the photography and they do not require additional mounting. They can be framed if someone likes. Mine were done at a nationally recognized photo lab I use. So I don't think the home owner will really be over doing the metal. But, canvas is another wonderful option. Photography is so realistic. I find it very uplifting and you can see places you have been or dream to be in an instant.

Though metal may not look like metal.....IT'S METAL and one will 'feel' the difference. Why limit oneself to metal if it doesnt seem to be metal......go out and find some LARGE art you like .....place it above the bed, and remeber the size is not the factor here......the size larger or smaller can work
