That one's good for those prints you don't want to cut up, too! I put a top together this weekend. The pattern page is copyrighted and says "DO NOT COPY" across it, but it's just four patches and squares. (How do you copyright four patches and squares?!) The pattern came with a bundle of 6 half-yards of fabric - two pansy prints, three purples and a bright green. It came out pretty!

I like it for that very reason, Donna. Some of the 'do not copy' and some that are copyrighted just boggle my mind. Makes me wonder what they think is so unique about it. The colors the pattern came with sound good though. :-) I like pansy print.

I think it's the 'paper' that's copyrighted - the written instructions. Strips and/or squares have been sewn together for decades if not centuries.

I agree, Sharon. I have used this pattern a couple of times when I needed a quilt made within a short time. I have also used a few of the others...Chinese Coins and Forest Bricks are 2 I've made. Not new patterns but I use her instructions. Really liked the FB quilt. I did it in greens with brown strip areas.......like the first example shown.

Nice quilting ideas there, too, Sharon. I like the 9 (or 4) patch alternating with squares (or rail fence). I don't have a website, just looked at pictures and did it. Also, if you keep strips on hand, Bonnie Hunter's Strip Twist and Bricks and Stepping stones are quick.

Beverly, I made a Strip Twist for a Christmas gift last year and it was very fast! It also made a nice colorful quilt for a guy.
