Hi Mystearica, I have grown quite of these myself. I presently have a soursop seedling from Puerto Rico growing in a bay window above my kitchen sink. In your zone it will be very tough to keep them alive without supplemental lighting and possibly even heat if it will be close to a window in the winter. I believe I used a coconut coir mixed with some vermiculite, and some organic compost for the growing medium. You want a fast draining mix- NOT potting soil...too much water retention. There are formulas around if you google it. In the right conditions they grow fast and will need some room over time, though you could move it outdoors and protect the hell out of it in the summer months. If you want the tree to fruit thats a whole different story. Good luck- You have to start sometime...better now than never. Chris

Won't happen in your climate. I live in Cape Coral Fl about 5 miles from the coast and when we get into the upper 40s, and it lost about 1/2 of the leaves. I have 2 of them in the ground. One of them is about 12 ft high and had blooms all over it this winter. one night it got down in the mid 40s and it lost 1/2 it's leaves and all of the blooms. It fully recovered. Even in south Florida it needs to be protected. It's much more tender than even mangos. I should be getting more blooms this summer.
