Every season I deal with aphids. I usually keep an eye on the plants and have very little if any real damage, so I don't give them much thought.

This season we've had a very wet spring. It's rained at least 3 times a week for about 6 weeks or more. I grow in SWC's, so the rain doesn't affect the plants moisture level much.

The last 3 days have been 80's & 90's. I've been tying stems to the supports and spraying Daconil between the storms. As I was tying one plant today I noticed shiny spots on some of its leaves. Knew it couldn't be rain, hadn't rained since yesterday.

Then I remembered reading about honeydew. Turned a couple of leaves over and found aphids up the wazoo. I'd never see them in such numbers. Squished probably a few hundred and then checked the other plants. Luckily they seem to be only on the one plant.

Going back out this evening when it cools off a bit. I'm gonna crack a beer, pull a lawn chair up to that plant, put on my up close glasses and become a squishing machine.
