I would suggest you take out the stove and put in a lazy-susan corner cabinet and add cabinets on a new left wall, as per the photo, to make the kitchen into a U-shape. Then, you should be able to center the stove plus pass-through on this new wall of cabinets and perhaps have a pantry at the end of this new line of cabinets. I do not know what your color preferences are, but the cabinets would look nice painted white with an accent color in the recessed spaces on the doors. I would advise moving the dining set away from the rail for the sake of safety. Painting the stairway wall an accent color may create interest and warmth, especially if you would use the accent color used on the recessed parts of the cabinets doors, as per my suggestion. The entire area looks very nice and seems to be made of very good materials. I believe you just need more cabinets to make the kitchen more functional and some color to tie the two areas together.
