We are designing a new home and are dealing with a somewhat restricted footprint. Our dream was to have coffered ceilings in our family room, but with the shape and the open floor plan (kitchen, breakfast nook, mudroom that cuts into part of the family room), it's just not an option. The open space is not a rectangle, it's more l-shaped. With that dream out the window, I'm hoping to add some other nice finishes to the space. Any ideas in terms of some nice alternatives that will give a polished look to the family room?
