A stove or range works better in smaller kitchens because it takes up less room that a cook top and wall oven. The cabinet below a range top has limited storage needs whereas a range makes full use of the space.

If space is not an issue wall ovens are nice because you don't need to bend down so far to access the oven. If you style is more contemporary the cook top and wall oven combinations is very clean.
