Light! The black is way too heavy.

Lighter. There is a very nice quarts that is lighter than your sample - we used it in our bathroom because it is not too "busy" with the dark vanity and dark grey shower tiles. We were told to go with quartz as it is non-porous and non-staining. He was right.

You won't regret using the lighter one. Your kitchen will be bright and airy. That combo with the black is a tad overdone.

Either works, dark is popular at the moment, the lighter is more versatile and won't date as fast :) Good luck.
