Last Sunday, I put the border on a top, this week, it got sandwiched and quilted and yesterday, i sewed on the binding. Today and tomorrow will be hand sewing it. I really must learn how to finish bindings by machine.

Tomorrow I plan to finish a top I started last weekend. Then if there's time maybe I'll finally get back to the Hunter's Star! LOL

Sunday we are going to visit FIL. He has been serving an interim appointment at a small church in the Plant City area and will be done at the end of June. We're not able to go for his last Sunday so will go for Father's Day.

Not sure what I'll be able to get accomplished this week-end. I have the 9-patches all done for the Irish Chain my niece wants so maybe I'll try and concentrate on the quilting for SIL comfort quilt and Zelda.

nankins...I love the quilt. Great color and movement! Working on the jigsaw puzzle of mystery quilt. So far, I still like the colors I chose, but it feels a little faded. Hopefully the eventual borders will help.

I'm working on my younger nephew's quilt. I had to put together 10 crazy-piecing blocks, cut them diagonally and now sash them in the background fabric. The crazy blocks were not fun to do. I foolishly thought they would be. I think they are turning out well though. This should keep me busy this weekend. That, and trying to catch the chipmunk in our basement before he does damage. Little critter slipped in through the garage door that my DH seems to leave open longer than necessary.

And Lois...that is going to be perfect for a guy quilt...the colors and design are perfect! I tried improv once, had fun, but didn't quite know when to stop...silly I know. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished!

I have a few tops complete, and have decided it's time to find a longaremer to get them quilted. Trying to finagle them thru a small throat is just more effort than I'm up for...love doing the quilting on small quilts, but anything larger than a lap size and I'm tuckered out. While my upper arms need the work out, the rest of me just wants it done :-)

I keep saying I'm going to start an Irish chain, but I must finish my leaf block and mail to Beverly...my weekend objective before going to back to work on Monday.

Lois....It looks like you are using the Essex yarn dyed fabric for the block borders? If not that, what kind of fabric is it?

Theresa, you are amazing. And aren't you the one who keeps talking about cutting back a bit? Great job.

My house and yard chores are getting in the way but I still plug along with my Hawaiian applique blocks a bit at a time. Working on number 4 but will need 16 so it's a project that will never get done. I am gathering a kit for a retreat in July to finish an Irish Chain quilt I plan to use in a raffle. It's a new retreat for me so I'll see if I like it. Anything that gets me off my duff is good. It's not a long trip like my favorite retreat.

Next week will be devoted to getting youngest grandson registered at his college out of state. Should be a fun trip.

All of these latest quilts are lap sized charity quilts so it doesn't take forever to do a top. And I don't FMQ so it is all straight line quilting of some sort. On the last two, I quilted 1/4 in from all the seams of the blocks, makes for an interesting back as well.

Next week I am visiting DD#2 who lives across from Port Huron. So we will be visiting Joann's. She is hoping to make two twin quilts for the guest room so maybe we can get started on those.

And yes, I plan to slow down...sometime.

Theresa, I love that quilt! I might have to buy that book if I can't figure out the pattern! Lois, I like your stack and slash - your pieces look much smaller than the ones I have made, so I can see that it might be more tedious.

We had friends over last night & I just got home from serving a pancake breakfast with our Lions Club. I need to walk dogs then I am hoping I can spend some time behind my sewing machine! I have three luggage tags to finish and hope to get a couple charity quilts sandwiched. We have brunch tickets tomorrow to the dinner theater for Father's Day, so that will be fun, too!

No worries, Theresa! I am going to look through my books and see if there are any similar patterns, otherwise I will suck it up and order it on Amazon. There are used ones starting under $10 so that may be the way to go.

I just checked the company I bought mine from for $6.99. Out of stock. Poo!

This morning, I made a pair of pillowcases for that wedding quilt i did last year. Wedding is scheduled for next May. I have never had anything done so far ahead of time. Feels good.
