Wine refrigerator / coolers

Which type of wine refrigerator unit is best for personal use at home, a compressor unit or a thermoelectric unit? Does either unit require any sort of ventilation space? I'm looking to place the unit inside a cabinet in my kitchen but am concerned about ventilation. Thoughts?

Hi Rhea,

I recommend going with a compressor unit as many compressor models have front exhaust which means they can be recessed into cabinetry. Thermoelectric units are quiet, which makes them great for the home, but they are rarely designed with front exhaust and should not be built-in. Hope this helps!
