Light gray for the brick. Dark gray or blue for the shutters. A white four square beveled door wouldn't be bad but spicing it up with a bright, vibrant color wouldn't be bad either.

This looks very much like the house I grew up in! IMHO....remove the foundation plantings. Change the planting areas to some " curvy" beds. Add new plants that have a softer, varied look.

Remove the wrought iron from the front. Paint the shutters in a darker color. Do not paint the brick!! Choose a new front door with some upper windows. Paint the door a color different from the shutters. Get an all-glass storm door and paint the frame to match the front door.

Landscaping could add character and curb appeal. The sidewalk cracks' weeds could be cleaned up with boiling water and some patching- worth a try. For the shutters, try taping some white or brown paper over them to see if you like the look. A terracotta that nearly matches the roof could be nice for shutters, railing and door. The white windows don't look paintable- white is then your third color (brick, roof, windows are tan, terracotta and white).
