Beautiful home. Hard to recommend colors without seeing your furniture. Grey is a great neutral color and very popular now. There are warm grey and cool greys and 100 different ones in-between. Paint color is the last thing you should decide. First comes the furniture, then rugs, then the paint. Your walls are just there to compliment and showcase your furniture and accessories. Don't start from the finish line.

I would put the painter off.

It can take awhile to come up with a color scheme. Maybe start by selection of a large painting that you love.

Do not paint until you have moved in and bought your furniture. And do not buy blinds yet either. Yes you are doing this all backwards. That is a big room, leave it the way it is until you are settled. Do not worry about the painters or the blind men. They will wait.

Thought the attached article may help as well as the video from House & Home regarding three neutrals. If it were me, I would go with a neutral, which feels classic and will not limit you to a specific color scheme when you are purchasing furniture and accessories.

gray is the new beige, and everyone is doing it, doesnt mean its for you. in fact the white is very nice. and so is the neutral color. dont paint your whole house gray...this is a classic house dont make it cookie cutter.

How big is the house? A 4000 square foot space can easily cost $25,000 or more to paint, so to me, if you like a neutral look anyways then stick with what you have for now. You will no doubt find places where the money will give you much more bang for your buck design wise!

I think the space looks pretty awesome now. Move in, watch the light move through the space and then decide. If you have kids or pets, you will NEED to repaint after a year or two anyway!

This is why we are painting over the sandy colors. This is the wall that needs to be painted, I am going to take the great advice I have got from here and just do this one wall. My husband and I strongly dislike it. It is like sponge paint or something haha.

I agree, I wouldn't paint until you have moved in. It will be easiest to choose colors once all the furniture is in.

Grey would fight with the brown in your beautiful wood floors. Go with blue or green and stick with white for the walls.
