Need privacy from neighbor

We need privacy from our neighbors. Our property goes from the corner of the house, up the rocks to the tree and on. Also want to block this black plastic thing the neighbor has right there. Anyone have any ideas how to block neighbor, keep puppy on deck and keep private? The space is awkward, our home is considered an attached single family home. Her deck backs up to the side of our dining room/kitchen. It's the corner of our house, part deck, part rock.....thank you!

I suggest you reread the rules about what you can do in your area- perhaps they are HOA rules. Then consult an architect or landscape architect. This is a complicated situation that may require additional consultation with a geologist. Changes to anything on the slope may affect drainage. Options for dog fences may be covered by the HOA rules.

In the meantime, there are probably options such as tilting patio umbrellas or triangular sun shades that may block the view temporarily.

We are considered a home and we take care of the property outside too. Different than a condo type HOA. We were thinking some kind of latus. Or maybe plants. Or maybe some type of storage closet. Or....

I think I'd do a lattice/fence type thing that graduates up the rock/hill area. Then plant bouganvilla to make a beautiful wall of flowers. You'll only need a few panels to hide the plastic and the house view and give you privacy.

Get a large pot and plant a tree or large plant that will grow to fill the space and create a screen without making it feel fenced in.

Your neighbour parked their compost bin right beside your house?...how thoughtful of them. I would start by nicely asking if they could find a spot for it that is not right beside your house. Also, I would likely build a section of privacy fencing that starts at maximum height near the corner of your house. Run the top of it until it runs into the rock, while the bottom follows the contour of the rock.

We put a lattice fence to give us privacy in our hot tub. We used plastic lattice as wood lattice doesn't hold up over time, and it gave us color choices. As others said, contour the bottom of the fence to fit against the rock. You can buy concrete pier blocks (see photo) for the fence posts to sit in since you likely can't dig a post hole in those rocks.
Plant a fast-growing evergreen vine, and you'll have privacy.

I would think 'privacy panels' instead of privacy fence. Gives you more flexibility and is open to more creative use of materials.

I believe if you go online to Improvements.com they have planters on casters with lattice panel attached.
