I am wondering the same things about mine. I bought some succulents and they had tons of these little props in each container so I have some "cooking" and they are probably about a quarter size of yours, but I wanted to select a few and pot them in tiny pots for my windowsill.

I am new to this, but this is what has been working for me and it has been very successful. I leave the props alone until the parent leaf is pretty shriveled. The pups are gaining their nutrients from that leaf and I figure they need to get that energy while they are setting roots.

how do u get to propagate them? i had some leaves from my broken plant and i stuck it in the soil but nothing happened, they just shrieveled and died???

I let them sit and let the cut end dry for a couple of days. Then I lay them on the dirt. I don't stick them in. I only stick in stem cuttings. I make sure the potting mix is just barely moist and keep them in a bright spot, but one with no direct light.

I have recently switched over to using a version of Al's gritty mix- 1/2 Floor Dri and 1/2 chicken grit. It holds plenty of moisture but it won't let the plants sit in water. From what I understand the cut leaves can take in water from the surface of the mix and if it's too wet they will rot. You might try switching to gritty. Your soil doesn't seem to be very light. At least change your soil mix to 50/50 with perlite.

The way your leaves are removed matters, too. They must be a clean cut (or pulled away cleanly) from the stem and include just a bit of the stem. I have no problems at all with leaves that fall from the plants and are healthy. They root very easily.

To those who were asking how propagated these: I pulled healthy leaves from the plant, getting the whole leaf without break it. (it's fine is you get a bit from the main stem on the leaf) *i will add a photo later* let these leaves dry out for a day or two and then just set them on the soil. The pictures that I posted the leaves are from a month - a month and a half ago.
Watering them, I just use a spray bottle and let the top of the soil dry before I water them again.
