Our new living/dining room is about 14'x 21'. The living room area takes up half the room. We like the area rug we have in the living room, so now we need to find something for the dining room side.

Here's the living room rug. As you can see, it's pretty busy.

I'm thinking I should get a rug that's more solid colored, maybe in one of the darker colors in this rug, like red or dark orange, to stand up to the living room rug The only thing is that I'm not sure that's the vibe I want for the dining room, but I also want something a little more interesting than beige in there.

Right now we have a rectangular dining table that's too big for the
space. We want to replace it with a small round table that will expand
to seat eight.

I can't post a picture of the room as it is now because it's really messy, but here it is when it's empty.
