Hi Beth, what a lovely house with great potential to be quite a showpiece. Are you starting from scratch with your furnishings or do you already have pieces that you will be using? I think that you'd really benefit from hiring an interior decorator to visit the home and give you some ideas. Don't change the paint colour until you have decided on all your furnishings.
