Is this a total redo? I think I would remove the refrigerator box and the corner wall next to the cabinets to open that whole corner up. Then put the refrigerator on the same wall as the cabinets. The pantry would be reconfigured by taking out the existing doorway and wall next to refrigerator box. It looks like a dark area and if the pantry has a window I would get rid of the pantry altogether. Relocate ovens & opt for pantry cabinets instead of pantry. However, we need a floor plan. Can't give you much info without it.

Hello, your space needs a design professional to assess the structure and what your trying to achieve with your space, I see so many Remodels that don't address how the space will be used with the surrounding rooms, You have a great space good luck.

The cook top and wall oven need to be replaced. And while I don't mind the current layout, I was thinking of replacing the cooktop/wall oven and replacing with a range and hood fan that would be centred in the large bank of cabinets. I thought I could put the sink on the other side of the island, leaving a side that is more natural for seating. I am considering replacing or refinishing current cabinetry. I was imagining white cabinets with butcher block counter and subway tile backsplash. But doing the Island a grey or a navy with a white quartz. Oil rubbed bronze hardware. Also, the cabinets with the wall oven would just be built in white cabinetry where I would store dishes which would be directly across from the dishwasher and sink in the island.

I would like it to have a cottagey/warm/modern feel. Most images of a navy island with white quartz look super glam/modern.

Also, I actually kind of like the clay tile floor, the blue and white tile counters, etc. Unfortunately most of it is in poor condition.

Hire a professional kitchen designer/architect!!

...or at least take your floorplan for a free design session at a big-box store. It will help you refine the decisions to be made.
