Broken Garage Door: What to Get?

Our garage door is 35 years old and the cable just broke. That is not the first problem with this door. It has broken springs and doesn't track well: lots of screeching from the wheels. I wonder if a different brand would work better. Anyone purchased their own garage door? Which one, and why?

Is the door itself in decent shape, or do you really want to replace it? The hardware can be adjusted and replaced as needed. Tracks can get out of alignment, rollers can get rusty, springs and cables often break, especially in the course of 35 years.

We live in a cold climate and replaced 30 year old fiberglass doors with Raynor steel insulated doors. Garage never drops below freezing any more. We are very pleased.

When the door service man came and inspected our door he said the drums that the cable track on were the wrong size. He replaced both drums and added new cable. Now the door tracks just fine and quietly. Lucky for me the company that installed the door originally was closed the day after the cable broke. The new company knew what was up and they didn't.
