I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you want to paint DR walls White Dove? Over the red? Try flat on your ceilings and semi-gloss on trim and casings. I like eggshell for walls.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I think walls are faux finished red will have to stay. Painter coming next week. All the trims except dining room are White Dove Semi Gloss. The dining room will change from white to the White Dove.

What I wondered is the ceiling.....should it be White Dove flat or should I do The Hayseed that is on all other ceilings. I just felt that the trim in the dining room is beefier than all the other trim and doing the Hayseed might make ceiling lower looking as that trim is so deep.

The Hayseed is a bit darker than White Dove. It is older Duron paint. I just worried about changing to White Dove when it will be only one with White Dove. Have a good Fourth.

Thought I'd say what we decided along with a really good painter......We are doing trim the White Dove which matches all other trim. Had planned that all along.

I really wanted the White Dove Ceiling, but went with the Hayseed which is really similar to White Dove just a smidgen darker.
My painter thought same color throughout would look better. The dining room has a large window which makes ceiling appear lighter than my hallway in the Hayseed. I think that is what I couldn't picture.....I wanted the light feel.

I think PAINT FEAR is the worst for DIYers. Love your decorating.....and the colors and design in this house were my cup of tea. I'm in S.C.
