Not sure about FP but whatever you do make sure you mount the TV lower. It is too high now which I think adds to the awkwardness

i agree that the tv is too high...do you really need a wet bar? consider the option of removing the doors and altering that bar niche slightly, so you can place the tv into the wet bar area, on an extendable arm. i also think that the black slate on the FP could work really well in here if you simply paint the walls in a slightly deeper, richer wall color with some gray in the base, painting the walls all one color, including the mouldings. this would also better highlight the architecture of your space. then consider replacing the too small and too traditional mantle shelf with something more updated....like a chunky piece of reclaimed wood....
