Question re grafting Cherry trees

I've been planning to plant some Sweet cherry trees in the back yard. When we do, depending on various factors it will be several years before any bear fruit.

In the meantime, there are already several older, healthy "Bird Cherry" trees on the property. Are these species closely enough related that grafting Sweet Cherry ("Prunus avium") onto "Bird Cherry" ("Prunus padus") would be possible? I know this is not ideal but wondering if it's feasible.

If yes, might any of you reading this..
..be willing and able to send me cuttings with which to try this or
..know of a company, organization that can furnish cuttings for grafting use?

Thank you
