Weed or plant?

I have a beautiful garden. These plants or weeds come up every year. I've pulled them for years but decided to let them go this year. They do nothing but grow....

lolah2, the plants in the photo really don't bear any resemblance to any Impatiens species that I know of. Try the Name That Plant Forum which gets more traffic.

They are balsams, a common garden plant. They are annuals where I live (NJ), so either you are somewhere warmer or there are a lot of balsam seeds in your garden. Here's the wikipedia page on them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impatiens_balsamina

Thank you very much. I live in Alberta Canada. I always pull them by May or June. Must take a while to bloom.

Well, I've been wrong before, and will be wrong again. I apologize if it turns out I steered you wrong, lolah2.
