Range venting help!

New home construction, 30" Bosch 5 burner on interior wall. Ceilings are 9' Cabinets go up 96" Due to open floor plan it would be difficult & expensive to build a chaise above cabinets to fill the 12" to ceiling. Due to limited cabinet space would like to go with a quality under cabinet vent hood to allow extra cabinet over bent hood. Concern is most quality hood need 6"-8" venting. Due to floor plan, horizontal venting is not an option. Is there any way to adequately vent a quality hood to roof through a 2x4 interior wall without reducing air flow to a point the hood is non-functional? Would I be better off foregoing under-cabinet, ditching the cabinet and going with an on-wall chimney design?
