@stephanj: Do you have any idea what the minimum width door opening would work with that unit?

Hi poppy, we just installed this as well and really like it. Like stephanj, we are still babying it - didn't put the heaviest items on it yet. I like that you can pull it out, it seems easier to access than the lazy susan (and we have both in our kitchen), and it's easier on my back. You asked if it comes all the way out, which it does not. See my photo of it fully extended. We built ours and I must say it was the only one which stumped us - the pre-drilled holes didn't line up and we stripped a bolt trying to secure it. In the end we just did one bolt at the top and one at the bottom and skipped the middle one. The shelf height is fully adjustable.

Also, I think our door is an 18".

Here you can see there is about 3-4 inches of space left inside.

Thank you stephenj and Jenn. It looks like it comes out enough that it's easy to reach everything. It really looks very similar to the Le Mans. I think the Le Mans will hold 55 lbs (not sure if that is each shelf, but I think so.). Does it seem a little fragile as you are both babying it? It is certainly a great price.

My door width is 21" funkycamper, bought as a unit with that cab so I think that is standard.

poppy it doesn't feel fragile per se, it is just my own psychological hang-up it seems impossible that a shelf holding cans cantilevered with a 29" extension on one end only (when pulled out) would work. But it does. I have a lot of heavy stuff on it, all my pantry flours, beans, soups etc.

Can any tell me how high the bottom shelf can be adjusted vertically?

There is a bottom setting, and then a weird really high setting. You could theoretically have both shelves in the top portion of the cab and have space underneath.

Thanks stephanj...my cabinet is the Sektion 38x38 corner cabinet with the round carousel...is the same vertical adjustment is applicable?

Would like to hear more comments about the Ikea Utrusta. I tried it out at the Ikea store and it didn't seem to have a very smooth glide. However the prices is about 30% of the Lemans Cloud, so I'm still interested.

What is the minimum door opening , how wide are the shelves as they pull out the opening

The door that comes standard is 21 inches. The door opening is 19.5 inches. The shelves are 15 inches at their widest.

The cabinets are standard 24" deep and 47" long.

I just got one installed in Ikea's cabinet posted just above my comment. It does pull out all the way. Jenn L. , who posted pictures of her pull outs was incorrect. She just didn't pull the shelves out far enough. You do have to pull on them intentionally, to get them to pull out all the way, but they do pull out all the way.

I just had my Ikea kitchen installed over the past two days. I did opt for this type of corner shelving, which seems very convenient although, while cleaning up before putting anything in, the shelf dropped and I cannot figure out how to raise it up.

I wish there were three shelves, but each shelf's moving and support hardware is quite deep and eats up about two inches of height beneath it. It's what makes the shelf strong enough to support the max load of 33 lbs. I think if you drop the bottom shelf all the way to the bottom it is not as smooth to pull in and out, and that if I have my husband add a hole on the bottom, so that it can rest as it does when engaged into a one of the pre drilled holes above, it will operate just as smoothly as it does when set at the height of one of the pre-drilled holes.

Michael Kukura, if you haven't figured it out yet, if you go to IKEA's website, search and go to the Utrusta corner base cabinet pull out page, and then go to assembly and documents, and then go to page 12, step 15, you'll see the pin that you have to position in the vertical pole, to hold the shelf in place. (I just noticed that there is a hole near the bottom of the pole too, if you want to have one of the shelves down at the bottom).

Would it be possible to modify the base cabinet to be 3.5 inches less wide (i.e. 43.5 inches wide instead of 47" wide and still be able to install and use the Utrusta pull out in it? It seems in the pictures that there is a gap between the sides of the pull out and the side of the cabinet. If I compare the width of the pull out vs the width of the cabinet, then it is 35.25" vs 47" respectively, which seems like enough leeway to be able to accommodate cropping the doorless side of the cabinet by 3.5 inches. Ikea designer is saying it isn't possible to fit it with this modification. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

I know this thread is from over a year ago, but does anyone with this pullout think it will work with a non-IKEA frameless base cabinet that has a 28-1/2”H x 16-3/4”W door opening? It is standard depth and the interior long dimension is 43 3/4”.

I was all ready to buy the hafele le mans and then thought to check IKEA. Not sure if the weight capacity might also be an issue though.

IKEA unit is not very good quality at all. We build custom ikea kitchens and alway use a leMans unit instead. The ikea corner cabinet opening is 19.5” so a 50 LeMans works. My wholesale price isn’t all that much more than likes unit.

So, the LeMans is a better quality and will perfectly fit the IKEA corner cabinet if I get a size 50? Is there also a better lazy susan type (preferably a super susan) device that I can use in IKEA's 38" corner cabinet?

Yes the photo above is in an IKEA cabinet. We also modify the cabinet box to except a recessed channel for a handleless application but that has nothing to do with making the LeMans fit. The same company that makes the LeMans “Kessebohmer “ also makes a round version that we have used in the IKEA 38”. There are many other ”Susan” type units that will work also. You just have to look at the specs diagram. They are available in different sizes and price ranges.

We've been using ours for about 16 months now. We keep some heavy bowls and a Vitamix Blender on the top shelf and large pots on the lower rack. It works fine. It does catch about mid way and I have to give it a good pull for it to release and come all the way out. We keep an amplifier and a bluetooth dongle in the very back for built in speakers my husband installed in the vaulted ceiling and I have room to store a tall fluted vase and a boxed bottle of scotch up front behind the bottom shelf.

Does anyone know if this UTRUSTA corner base cabinet pull out shelf will work with the Akurum line of cabinets?
