The fridge is out of the frame, just to the right it's inset in the wall. You can just barely see a sliver of it.

I wouldn't try to match, but allow a gentle contrast. Otherwise it will feel too much like you're trying to pass off the tile as more wood.

Yeh that's kinda what I'm afraid of.....too matchy matchy? the area where they'll be seen together is pretty small and the transition is a 3" step down.

A close up photo of the tiles and the flooring would help. At a distance (such as the photo you've posted) it is too hard to tell how close you've come to a match.
