I started stripping a buffet over the weekend. I did one drawer, using Citristrip. It is a dark "cherry" type color. I let it sit for 2 hours then scraped it off, and went over it with steel wool and water. I put more citristrip on it and let it sit for another couple hours. Did the same with the steel wool and it was still pretty dark. Dejected, I came inside, watched some stripping videos and laid down and took a nap. The DH was mowing the lawn and when he came in he didn't close the garage. The drawer sat in the hot sun the whole time I was taking a nap (2-3 hours). When I went out to look at it, all the stain was gone and it's beautiful bare wood. Was it because of the sun?
