Did you use a comforter or a duvet? Is this custom? What is the fabric source?

This is a duvet, the homeowner had bought it at Macy's a few years ago - and we kept it in the room, so I don't have any other information on it - sorry.

Where could I find the table lamps? Was a white lampshade chosen to provide contrast in a room with dark wood furnishings or does it provide better light?

We purchased the table lamps at Crate and Barrel. The white lampshade does both provide a contrast to the dark colors of the room and also better light than a dark shade would have. Thanks for your question.
