Nix out peach drapes at the very least. Rooms seems cold. Maybe it's the lack of lighting? Lighting should be factored into the space. Maybe everything that's white should be off-white to warm the place up? Kitchens need lot of "layers of light" due to the fact that it's the hardest-working room in the house. Living room needs at least a large lamp or sconce in each corner. Ceiling light in living room does no one any favors in the flattering department. Dining room needs lighting. Put more round shapes in living room. The only round shapes I see in the entire place is the dining room table and the drapes. Maybe round shapes and lighting would soften things up. I agree about the lack of a focal point. Art might be the focal point. Is art in living room your own or something designer put in? That might be your focal point. If it's not yours, be sure to have input into art. There's a lot of open shelving in living room. That's only easy to pull off if you're a neat freak. Even then, open shelving is very busy to look at when you're looking at tv. I'd have closed in units, myself (maybe in off-white with some texture to add personality). Do an Internet search of living room shelving to get some ideas.
