We have a MCM house with boiler so AC s going to have to be from an external source we have been looking at the one that are mounnted outside and just have vents to the inside we think in our case we will run the vents throught the attic and drop down where we need them

having a/c vents in the ceiling works better as well.

I saw this on HGTV but have no idea if it works..... Time for research.

We just put the Fujitsu system in our home. We have the mini split ductless in our attic with registers in each bed/bath on the 2nd floor. On the first floor, instead of the slim line system (which I agree, isn't the prettiest) we put a system in our ceiling. It looks like a large 2'x2' grate. We thought it was a prettier alternative to the slimline on the wall. It hasn't been turned on yet b/c plumber has to do one more thing but it is supposed to be great and whisper quiet. This whole system was half of a tradition central air unit would have been and is MUCH less install work. Our plumber said the LG picture frame one is twice as expensive and not nearly as powerful/efficient. I agree that option looks fantastic though!

The only thing more unattractive than the AC unit I offered is sitting in your own sweat on a hot, humid day! Smile!

cant agree on that.... if the unit was only there when you were sweating it would be fine. the trouble is its there every single day. don't know what our neighbors were thinking, as far as i can tell they completely ruined their gorgeous water front home.

What did you decide?

I never installed a newer system, just the attic fan. AC is on the long list for the old house! I just emailed the spacepak company, that is the least visually invasive option I've seen available.

Thanks Mark, I have a few mini-split units from recent flips I could hook up but have just suffered through the heat vs looking at the units on the wall. I abandoned the spacepak systems because I'm told the amount of air pressure needed to go through small holes makes it way too loud. Might just hook up the mini splits this year since I'm going the airbnb route most likely!
