Fan Quilt Finished

I think it has been in the making for three years, but it is finally done and hung on the screened porch. The sun won't reach it, so hopefully it won't fade. And it will only be hanging 5 months of the year. I probably dried it incorrectly after washing it, so it looks ripply, but all the seems are actually straight. I did waving lines of gold quilting in the border, a little design in the green part of the fan, a serpentine in the black, outline of the water and flowers in the duckie blocks, and outline stitch for the black. I may take it down and put a rod pocket at the bottom to weigh it down a little so it hangs better, but that will be over the winter.

Today I'm off to buy fabric for a baby quilt for the end of July. Yikes! I'm not the fastest at this. Wish me luck.

Bev, your quilt looks great and worth every minute you spent on it. It's perfect with the Asian lamps (I think that's what they are) on your table. Have you tried ironing the quilt to get it to lay flatter? That's usually what I do because I like the flatter look. Don't you just love Asian fabrics?

It is a job well done. I love your fabrics. It's always good to finally complete a project and post it. I envy you.

I was thinking about you last night when I was watching the weather. Glad to see you finished up the fan quilt and it looks awesome hanging there! That is such pretty fabric. Good for you! What pattern are you using for the baby quilt?

Lois, I will try ironing it. I was afraid it would ruin it. I will have my son take it down. They won't let me on ladders after I fell off last year and broke my arm while handing the design wall.
Geezerfolks, We have definitely had some rough weather. I always think I you when I feed my worms. I'm going to do a quick D9P. It's the fastest pattern I know. Off to buy the fabric right now.

Beautiful! I envy you finishing it. I started a fan quilt using oriental fabrics at retreat a couple years ago and I am no-where near finished! I need to get off my duff and pull it out again. Nicely done.

The fan pattern is always eye-catching!! Perhaps one day I'll give it a try, but this one is soooo pretty!! Wonderful blend of fabric designs and colors!
