Thats an interesting idea that would work in low humidity times of the year. I bet they'd do wonders for curing and storing onions and garlic /sez me, who has a few shelves of garlic curing and wishes it would hurry up/

I confess to using an Excalibur dehydrator (link) on herbs, its a question of 2 hours and they're crispy.

Whoa - I dunno if that Amazon price of $176 is because of their fabulously hyped mid July sale, but thats a whole lot cheaper than what it's going for elsewhere. Still expensive. Ours is 15 years old now and we've dried bushels of stuff with the thing.
