I would look at Absolute Black Granite or a black, brown, or gray quartz, like Caesarstone Concrete or Jet Black or Pental Quartz Mesa. Quartz might be easiest to match up because getting a sample is a lot easier and you can compare it to the existing countertops in your space. In cases like this is it easier to get something that is more solid, that you can match with a future granite if you do the perimeter later.

i have honed absolute black on my island, the honed bit keeps it from being super reflective/glarey.

If you have plans to replace your cabinets to white cabinets in the near future, I would look for a countertop that can work well with your current design as well as white cabinets. So with that, you could go with a black countertop!
