Livingroom decoration

I want to decorate our living room in a new house because this is the space which people can see from entrance at first. I put poster and wall clock over the fireplace like the picture but I think this space needs something else. I need your advice. What should I put over the fireplace? Another poster? Mirror? Or Modern clock?

I like the poster better than the clock - more colorful.

It depends what kind of theme you are going for. Right now, I like the clock better than the poppy pictures. Maybe you can put the clock to one side and some big candle holders on the other side (or something big: a clear vase with bare sticks or jute wrapped around). Also, definitely do not hand the clock, it looks good standing on the mantle. A mirror would also look good if you don't like the clock.

A mirror is needind in this space, because the celing is low in this end. Add some soft/ sheer drapped curtains, some furnitures by the windows, maybe some small tables because of the vet. play around with some pillows, lighting and art decor. add a table in the middle of the room.

White has already made the room quite cold. Don't add any more cold with glass & metal. There are plastic heat deflectors you can buy from a big box store for the floor vents.

The poppy pictures are okay, just lower them about 5 inches & separate them about 3 inches.

I don't think the flowers work with the rug and if you use the clock, there are great accessories in making this room really appealing in a modern/rustic way mixing metals and wood, rattan roman blinds, pillows, an industrial lamp, etc.

Which do YOU prefer? If you go with the poppies, then you need to bring in the red at least two more times in the room (there's company in design terms). But the red in the poppies and the blue in the rug may still conflict. If you go with the clock,I agree moving it over and adding a large, simple object to the side would look great.

Although I like the idea of drapes, the space on either side of windows is limited, so I might suggest blinds (either matchstick or simple cloth roman shades).

Your color palette is wonderful and any additions of artwork should be in keeping with the lovely neutral colors and the calm and comfortable feeling of your room. Here are some photographs on canvas that bring the natural world into your room.

I would like to see a mirror with curves; there are a lot of rectangles in this space. And a potted tree as well.

That groveraxel is one smart guy. Centering the rug with the fireplace, pulling the sofa forward accordingly, sofa table behind it, etc.... He just makes sense! :)

Put a 24" silver sunburst mirror. Ck TJMax, over fireplace. In widows put a panel on one end, not next to fireplace. Try a print in a accent color from rug. A big 36" square or round coffee table. Get something unique. Z Galleries has fun things. Ck pier One too. End table in a metal, world market carries. Add a very tall brush nickel lamp drum shade. Add potted palm to corner by a TV and window to fill space and add texture. Add tray to coffee table fill with fun items. TJMax is the best for this. Shop buy you can always return. Add a few pillows in prints and different shapes and texture like fur, adding a gray fur throw let hang over back of sofa.
